Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known in the media as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her in honor of her hometown. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is a self-described Jewish and descends from Ryder's Jewish father. The actress is also half-sister to Sunyata Jubal. Her younger brother is Uria. Ryder was born in the United States and moved with her family members to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. There, they didn't have electricity. Ryder became an avid read because they had television. Ryder started taking acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre when she turned 12 years old. In 1986, she got her first role on the big screen in the film Lucas when she was just 15 years old. Ryder endured bullying while in high school. Her acting career, she hoped that it would aid her. However, that didn't happen. She continued to pursue her goals. Beetlejuice which was a 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first big break. Ryder was able to continue her successful parts in a variety of films. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated for Academy Awards. One of them for her role in The Age of Innocence.
